Inspired Quote

Last week’s Earfare on filmmaker Robert Rodriguez’s interview by Tim Ferriss has helped me understand that creativity is at the heart of every aspect of my life and that has made all the difference.

“I only do one thing. I live a creative life. When you put creativity in everything, everything becomes available to you. Anything that has a creative aspect is suddenly yours to go and do and there’s no separation between work and play.” – Robert Rodriguez

Glucose Buddy icon175x175Awesome Application: Glucose Buddy

This past Sunday was National Type 1 Diabetes Day and as I approach my two year anniversary of being diagnosed T1D I figured I would share the app that has let me keep track of it all. Since the first month after my diagnosis I have used Glucose Buddy to track my insulin, glucose levels and quarterly A1C records. It’s an easy-to-use app that makes tracking simple.

If you don’t have Diabetes you probably know someone who does. So please share this. [App Site]

Movie I plan to see: Suffragette

“We break windows, we burn things, cause war is the only language men listen to.”

In light of the past few years of civil unrest over numerous social issues I find this film very timely and am hopeful that it raises awareness that subjugated groups will always find a way to prevail.

“We’re in every home, we’re half the human race. You can’t stop us all.”

Suffragette is a drama that tracks the story of the foot soldiers of the early feminist movement, women who were forced underground to pursue a dangerous game of cat and mouse with an increasingly brutal State. These women were not primarily from the genteel educated classes, they were working women who had seen peaceful protest achieve nothing.

Last month I wrote a story for Conscious Capitalism Florida about the Tampa Bay Lightning’s sustainability practices, which are really significant. For example, their hydroponic garden produces the equivalent to a traditional one acre farm. It was a great interview with great information to share about a wining team on and off the ice.
